Make room for a daily pause

Dharma Pray was inspired by Moonly and the quieter side of spiritual apps: a small daily message, a moment of reflection, and something positive to carry into the rest of the day. I wanted to explore how a mobile product could feel personal without becoming noisy or prescriptive.

The experience was shaped around change over time. As the user returned and their context evolved, the backend could keep track of those changes and help shape the next piece of content. Zodiac signs and other personal signals gave the daily cards a sense of arrival rather than making every visit feel identical.

Personal without becoming heavy

The goal was not to tell someone what to believe. It was to offer a gentle ritual: a thoughtful card, an encouraging message, or a prompt that helped someone notice where they were. That meant the interface needed to stay calm while the underlying data model remained flexible enough to support personalization.

The build

The app is an Expo and React Native project backed by Firebase. The wider system includes a containerized service with Express, Google AI, and WebSockets, giving the application room to coordinate personalized content and state changes beyond the device.

Why I kept returning to it

Dharma Pray was an exercise in restraint. A product built around reflection can easily become cluttered with features and advice. The most valuable part of the idea was the space it created for one small, meaningful interaction at a time.
